The Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), better known as Cal/OSHA, protects and improves the health and safety of working men and women in California and the safety of passengers riding on elevators, amusement rides, and tramways – through the following activities:
- Setting and enforcing standards
- Providing outreach, education, and assistance
- Issuing permits, licenses, certifications,
registrations, and approvals
Honoring Those Lost: 2024 Workers' Memorial Day Events
Workers' Memorial Day occurs annually on April 28. The Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Cal/OSHA, and the Nation, commemorate Workers' Memorial Day to honor those who perished while working and acknowledge the profound impact of these losses.
On April 28 and 29, Cal/OSHA will host events in collaboration with its partners, to commemorate fallen workers. We invite you to join these important events. Visit our 2024 Workers' Day Events page for location, times, and agendas.
